Arrow key focus alternates between the list pane and the preview pane. The active pane determines what the arrow keys do.

Global Shortcuts

These work any time focus is not inside a text field.

Finding notes

#Focus the tags filter — type #tagname to filter live

Note actions

Adding Notes

After typing a title in the Add bar:

EnterSave the note
Ctrl+EnterSave and immediately open in the editor

Editing

These work while a note is open in the editor.

KeyAction
Ctrl+EnterSave the note (works in title, tags, and body fields)
EscapeCancel edit — return to preview without saving

Universal Keys

KeyAction
EscapeThe universal cancel. From a text field: blur and park focus on the Menu button. From a modal or inline bar: close it. From the menu: close it. From multi-select: clear selection.

Escape always leaves you somewhere safe — the Menu button — from which you can Tab or arrow-key onward.
